Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of
the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of
international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real
time.
—Warner Bros. Pictures
In a twilight world of international espionage, an unnamed CIA
operative, known as The Protagonist, is recruited by a mysterious organization
called Tenet to participate in a global assignment that unfolds beyond real
time. The mission: prevent Andrei Sator, a renegade Russian oligarch with
precognition abilities, from starting World War III. The Protagonist will soon
master the art of "time inversion" as a way of countering the threat
that is to come.

After having a near-death
experience, an unnamed CIA operative, known as the Protagonist, is selected to
join the ranks of the shadowy government organization called Tenet: a group
tasked with ensuring the survival of the human race. Entrusted with coming to
grips with a terrifying, cutting-edge technology, and an imminent attack from
the future, the Protagonist teams up with his cryptic new partner, Neil, following
a faint trail of clues that lead to the villainous Russian oligarch, Sator.
However, this is a race against time, and as the suffocating stranglehold of
the invisible threat tightens, more and more, the future of our world is
hanging by a thread. Can two agents working alone avert the impending
Armageddon?

Sex
& Nudity
None 440 of 591 found this to have none
A woman wears light summer clothes that show a good deal of
skin."skin is not nudity..."
A man asks another man if he already had sex with his wife. He
answers "no, not yet..."
Kat is wearing a white bikini covered by a shirt. She later unbuttons
her shirt, exposing her bikini body.
A man jokes about another man patting him down and says:
"Where I'm from you'd buy me dinner first"
Violence & Gore
Moderate 249 of 370 found this moderate
A man shouts angrily and abuses his wife, hitting her.
A woman is shot through the abdomen. Very intense scene (she was
threatened to be shot in the head moments before)
A man has his teeth pulled out while in interrogation (it's
partially offscreen, however still very disturbing). We see the bloody pliers
on a table and it is mentioned later.
A man's has his fists hit (and presumably cut) by a cheese grater.
He then has the cheese grater run along the side of his face, though this is
very quick, almost off screen, and blood isn't seen.
Various men are shot throughout the whole film - almost no blood
in most instances. Some are emotionally jarring though.
A man repeatedly hits another man over the head and in the throat
with a gold bar. This is not shown, however it is intense and blood can be seen
later on the bar.
A man kicks and spits on his wife while she is laying on the
floor. Not very explicit, but a very emotional scene. Her life is threatened.
A woman is shot and killed offscreen.
There are numerous gun battles, two large ones. People are shot,
fall to their deaths, are crushed by falling debris. Soldiers are blown up by
rocket launchers, etc. Nothing gory or bloody and mostly off screen, though the
action is intense.
Profanity
Mild 273 of 398 found this mild
1 big loud angry "F" word. There's other, scattered
moderate language as well.
About three uses of Jesus' Name (JC, etc).
2 uses of b*tch, one said by the villain and one said by his wife
(they're both referring to her)
1 use of "ass"
5 uses of shit.
Sator uses several insulting profanities. Such as F*ck and b*tch
towards a woman
Alcohol,
Drugs & Smoking
Mild 235 of 347 found this mild
A man is offered a drink a few times but he doesn't "drink on
the job". A woman drinks a glass of wine. A man drinks some vodka.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

A lot of the scenes in this film can feel intense
There are some war scenes
Movie Review
The first part of the movie was
relatively easy to grasp what was going on, with me being able to keep up
fairly well with how the story was unfolding.
However, an hour in or so and the
story started to really accellerate with a pace I couldn't keep up with. I
could not process every bit that was going on any longer, leading to further
questions raised in my head the longer the movie continued.
In the last part of the movie,
some questions got answered and started to make sense, but still the vast
majority of questions and uncertainties remained.
All in all, I definitely need to
watch the movie another couple of times to try and grasp certain passages I
simply couldn't after watching it the first time.
